The Power of a Step Study
When I first started attending Celebrate Recovery I was in a very bad place in my life.
I had a casual relationship with Jesus and wasn't very serious about "getting better."
I was finally talked into participating in a Step Study.
It took about 9 months in all. The study was 2 hours once a week. This study allowed Jesus to truly change my life.
I took a long hard look at my entire life, the people that I'd hurt, those that had hurt me, and did an inventory of all of my mistakes and learned my character defects.
To this day it remains one of the most important spiritual decisions I've ever made, and I'd like to challenge you to join.
It wasn't easy, and it wasn't always fun, but things that really change us rarely are.
God used the Step Study as a crucible to help me recognize and take out the bad in my life.
I still struggle, I still make bad decisions, I still sin.
What's different now is that I recognize my character defects. I recognize the situations that I put myself into that lead to sin.
I was able to make amends to people I've hurt and truly able to forgive those that have hurt me.
If you are carrying a heavy burden in your life, I challenge you to join a Step Study this year.
You don't have to be an addict. You just have to have hurts in your life.
