  1.  Content of today’s message comes from  Micah 6 and Habakkuk 3
  2. [blank paper, colors and pencils]  Play the video below and have the kids draw the images that come to their mind. Color page: https://drive.google.com/file/d/0B5ETRkL51fhMNU5PbkRlYW56SWs/view
  3. Bible Project Video:  https://vimeo.com/240052534
Anticipation seems to be the storyline at the moment.  Anticipation isn’t really a bad emotion just the circumstances alter the emotion from excitement to fear.  We have a human nature to want to control an inevitable negative outcome. The Old Testament prophet Micah had a job to do and it wasn’t in the category of exciting.  The people were on the wrong path filled with evil and the lack of righteous justice.  Micah is very direct about the shortcoming of the people and the expectations God had for his people. There seems to be an attempt to reconcile with God with gifts and sacrifices but the response found in Micah 6 might surprise you.  Take a few moments and read through Micah 6 and see if there is a timeless truth in this moment.
Discussion Guide
  1. Go around the room and discuss your first thoughts about the story.
  2. [Children] Have you ever broke a siblings toy?  What did you try to do to fix it or make it right?
  3. [Children - Adults] If you didn’t know this part of the story was written thousands of years ago could it be compared to today?  How? Or How not?
  4. [Children - Adults] Read Micah 6:6-8, we can see a dialog between the people and God, what is the simple response found in vs 8.
  5. [Children] Can you define what good is? Or what is bad?
  6. [Teens - Adults] Take a moment and make a correlation between the word “Good” in this story and the words Jesus used in Luke 18:18-22.   Are they basically saying the same message? Why or why not?
  7. [Teens - Adults] Ask yourself, where do we put our value as a Christian? Are we behaving as one ought?
  8. [Adults] If you were to think about one part of this story today, in the greater picture of God’s creation, what specifically stand’s out?
  9. Take a moment and pray a prayer of gratitude for God’s living presence in our daily lives.
