A LETTER FROM THE WEST SIDE ELDERS CONCERNING
OUR COVID-19 RESPONSE
Dear West Side Family,
The leadership of West Side has met and decided to suspend our worship gatherings at the building. We are closely monitoring recommendations from the US Center for Disease Control (CDC) and other Governmental Agencies concerning the spread of COVID-19 (Coronavirus) and will continue to make appropriate decisions as needed. As more information comes out and is reviewed, announcements will be forwarded to you about future services and the use of West Side facilities.
For the next few weeks we are planning to do a live video of worship at West Side at 10:00 am Sunday morning. This service will include our normal activities such as songs, prayers, communion thoughts, a lesson from Tim, and a closing from one of the elders. We encourage people at home to have communion emblems available to share during the communion time.
We will also provide a Bible story, age appropriate questions, activity sheets and video suggestions for parents to share with their children. They will be able to watch the Bible story and discuss it with their kids. We hope this helps to make the lesson highly interactive and also promotes the concept of family discipleship that pushes forward our mission.
We hope you include plans to maintain your giving as part of your weekly routine. As you know, the work of the Lord’s church does not stop, especially during these unfamiliar times. Our work may even increase as we strive to serve our members, as well as those who may be struggling in our community and our world. Instructions will be provided for on-line giving. There is also an option that sets up a reoccurring withdraw from your account or debit card that will insure your weekly contribution. If you prefer, you can also mail in your offerings to the church office at 2300 West “C” Street, Russellville, AR 72801. Whatever option you choose we certainly appreciate your generosity and the love and concern you show for those we serve.
As we move forward in these unsettling times, we need to be reassured that the Lord holds our world in the palm of his hand. We encourage you to truly take to heart the words of 2nd Timothy 1:7 “For the Spirit God gave us does not make us fearful, but gives us power, love and self-discipline.” We continue to lift you up in prayer as we strive to fulfill the Lord’s mission for our church and our community.
We love you and may God bless you and your family,
The West Side Elders
