The Prime Timers ministry is made up of West Side Church of Christ members 55-years-old & up who have served and continue to faithfully serve our Lord and others. They serve through several outreach programs, such as the women’s Cut-Ups and sponsorship of a 12 year old young lady, named Darling, from Nicaragua.
The Cut-Ups are made up of some of our ladies who enjoy sewing. They have made lap robes for every resident in six local area nursing homes. They’ve knitted new born baby caps for local and foreign missions. They've pieced and quilted twin bed quilts for all the resident children in the Paragould Children Home. They are presently making baby and youth blankets for the Department of Human Services to take with their representatives when they have a need to remove children from unstable homes.
Darling receives our monthly sponsorship which provides her food, clothing, medical, and educational needs. Funds are also provided to purchase gifts on her birthday and Christmas. Letters and photos are also exchanged throughout the year. Our group meets on the first Tuesday night of each month with programs, activities, and trips planned throughout the year. This year’s trips have included the Pharaoh’s Exhibit, eagle watching on Lake Dardanelle, Dianna’s Iris Garden, IMAX theater, our annual fall foliage trip to northern Arkansas, and others. Our monthly meetings, as a rule, include a potluck meal or other food arrangements.
