The church family is a loving, big hearted, grace centered, group of Christians, one I will feel blessed to share life with on earth and eternity with in heaven. GET TO KNOW GRAYSON
Grayson and his wife, Amanda, joined the West Side family in June 2022. Grayson grew up at West Side, calling it his home from childhood through his college years. It was during his time in college that Grayson met his wife Amanda at Renew College Ministry. As Arkansas Tech alums, Grayson and Amanda have a huge heart for this campus and for college students. After graduating from Tech, Grayson and Amanda worked in youth ministry for a few years before transitioning back into their calling of campus ministry. Grayson holds a B.A. in Communications (2014) and a Master of Arts in Christian Ministry from Harding School of Theology (2022). Grayson and Amanda have been married since 2015 and have one child named Shepherd. “I love this church and I love our campus ministry. Both have shaped and changed my life forever. To serve in this capacity, to reach college students for the sake of the Gospel, is a joy and an honor. I truly believe that if we are able to reach students at this formative age, then the world will change because of Christ. As an old friend of mine says, ‘If you reach the campus, you reach the world!’” |
SOLOMON BOANYOUTH MINISTER
get to know solomon
Solomon joined the West Side ministry team in January 2024. Solomon grew up in Pike Road, Alabama and is the son of Kenneth and Karen Boan. Solomon has two brothers, Jackson and Holland. He received his Bachelor of Arts in Biblical Studies with a dual emphasis in Greek and Youth & Family Ministry from Crowley’s Ridge College in Paragould, Arkansas, in 2023. He played basketball for the Pioneers for three years. He enjoys sports, playing disc golf, and cheering on the Auburn Tigers. His ministry began when he and a group of friends started a student-led ministry when he was a sophomore in high school, and that is when he felt God calling him to ministry for his career. Solomon has a strong desire to help young people develop their own relationship with God. As a teenager, Solomon was surrounded by an incredible group of mentors, small group leaders, and friends who have maintained relationships with him as he entered adulthood and have been his greatest source of encouragement and prayer warriors. It is from these people that he learned the value of surrounding yourself with the family of God! You will often hear him say, “You are loved by me, you are loved by the people in this room, and you are loved by God!” ARIS ORTIZHISPANIC MINISTER
GET TO KNOW ARIS
Aris has been a member of the West Side ministry team since April 2015. He is originally from El Salvador and has worked with ministries in Texas and Arkansas. He graduated from the School of Biblical Studies of Harding University with a degree in Bible and Ministry. He is married to Carina and they have three children: Aristides Jr., Jonnathan and Albertt. Aris has collaborated in jail ministries; helped establish new Spanish congregations in Searcy, Clarksville, Dardanelle and Russellville; and, has participated in mission efforts in Belarus, Nicaragua, Mexico and El Salvador. “Preaching the Word of God is a special call from God. It’s a work that has great blessings and also great responsibilities with great challenges that only with a strong Faith in the Lord, can it be reached. Teaching the Word is powerful, because with that, you will guide the minds of people to recognize a Divine authority that will transform lives, traditions and beliefs to a simple and humble way of life in obedience to God by the Word of Truth. Christ is the center of the message. Salvation is the purpose. Preaching forgiveness of sins and the promises of eternity in Heaven, is God’s main concern before death is reached. Eternal condemnation will be the consequence if the gospel is not obeyed.” |
